Astrid had a 3-year wellness exam yesterday and she is finally on the charts!! She is almost at 5% of ‘normal’ growth. That is great news. She is 34" tall and 23 lbs. She is getting up there. Dr. S was really impressed with her physical abilities of jumping and walking and running. No issues with that. She is impressed that her speech is coming along and she can clearly understand her 4-5 word sentences. Dr. S's kids are at Stratford School with Astrid and the doc said that it is a wonderful school and Astrid will be challenged and learn a lot. Dr. S did mention HGH (human growth hormone) again; she sounds like she is advocating it, but I let her know my concerns. If she doesn't hurry up and start growing there may be concern for her future size. Astrid is already getting teased at school for being small and she hasn't found a circle of friends that she can play with. There is Emma, who is a few years older than Astrid, but she is more of her bodyguard. Emma told me that she looks after her when she is on the playground, and plays with her. The teachers are also scared of Astrid playing outside because she has no fear and will climb to the highest bars and the highest slides. Miss Denise is always telling her not to get so high. Scary!! There is this kid Evan who has a little crush on Astrid, and calls her ‘a little cutie’, but my little Asti will have nothing to do with him. Good girl!! She tries to play with the other kids but she feels a lot more comfortable with the teachers. I haven’t noticed any interaction with Astrid and the other kids except this one day when this group of kids were playing doctor/patient, and one girl was acting like a sick patient and there was another kid pretending to take her temperature, and another little girl watching … and then there’s Astrid trying to play too. She was sticking a stick up the kid’s nose. The little sick patient let out a little yelp. Hehehehe. I just had to laugh because she’s my kid but I know that it wasn’t a nice way to play. It’s 5pm. I have to go pick up the little one from school.
