I promise ... soon. I have some photos from Halloween and Eric's family visit out here. Astrid is doing well. We are in the process of potty training her and getting her ready for pre-school. She will be starting in January (hopefully); I think that she will really like it. She will be attending Stratford School. It's a great pre-school in Los Gatos and we feel like we did the homework this time with her school. This time around I knew what to look for and I had more questions and went on an extended tour. I feel comfortable that we made the right decision. Our first choice is Waldorf School, but the location isn't very convenient. Maybe for kindergarten it will be a lot easier. I really want her to go there ... it is everything we believe in a school. So, I measured the little girl the other day ... she is 32.5 inches tall, and 23 lbs (finally in 18 month old clothes). She's growing. She is such a little squirt. She loves to tease. It's all in good fun, but she loves to push my buttons. She is very funny and her humor is very mature. She can relate to other kids, but would much rather play and talk with adults. I have observed Astrid playing with other kids and she is definitely the leader in a play environment. She shares toys, but she has to be the one to give and take the toys away and dominates the activity. She isn't a bully, but more of an organizer and leader. She knows how she wants the game to be played and she makes up the rules. It makes the other kids a little angry, but she doesn't mind ... in the end she is the one that they watch and learn from. I don't get involved with her playing; I stand back and just observe. It is interesting to me to see the different personalities and how these small kids interact with each other. She is a very strong child and she can hold her own. I'm not worried about how she will be treated in school. I was a little afraid that she would be picked on because of her size but her personality is strong. She is talking a lot more. It is still coming a little slow, but she is progressing. I can understand her. She is fascinated by marine life and loves sharks, Rays, whales, wolf eels, crabs, seahorses … Just loves anything that lives in the ocean. She has her collection of sea creatures that she brings to bed with her every night. There are so many fish and toys that they are taking over her crib … yes, she is still in a crib. She loves her crib and I love having her in there. She has never tried to crawl out and I think that it makes her feel secure. She knows that it’s her little space and crib = sleep. We’ve trained her well. Halloween was a blast. She had a very good time trick-or-treating with Cousin Jack. We went up and down Cottle Avenue (the best street in SJ). She was hanging out with the adults, trying to manipulate herself into neighbor’s homes and running up and down the street in her adorable zebra costume. She looked awesome. It was almost as if she knew what she was, and she was trying to act like a zebra. She kept telling me how ‘cute’ she looked. It is now almost Thanksgiving. I cannot believe it. I can’t believe that I haven’t written any progress for awhile. www.boatdrinx.com has been boring lately … I’m sorry. I’ve gotten complaints from the Astrid fan club. I will update more regularly, I promise. I’ve started a new career and have been studying for RE exam. It’s been pretty hectic around the Greenwood home. I will ask Eric to get off his butt-ski and post the pictures tomorrow night.
