I have been told that I am slacking on progress these days; I will do better with the updates. Astrid isn’t any bigger than last time I wrote. She is holding strong at 19 pounds and 31 inches tall. Eric is a little worried that she won’t grow anymore, but I know that it’s a ludicrous thought. She will probably always be pretty petite but she’s not going to stop growing at age 2! The only part of her body that I have noticed is growing is her feet. I just bought her new shoes again, size 5 ½. Her hair grows really fast and she is due for another hair cut. Her hemangioma is barely visible which gives her the cutest smile on this planet. The temper tantrums have subsided a bit. She doesn’t seem as frustrated as she did just a month ago. She does have a bit of a malicious streak. I’m watching her right now put Elmo on her train tracks and run him over. This is a little trick that her daddy taught her. It’s pretty funny, and she thinks that it’s funny too. Another bit of entertainment that she enjoys is ‘Finding Nemo’ over and over again. She knows the entire script and will recite it. She is now looking at flashcards and learning letters and objects that start with each letter. Her vocabulary is still not coming as I fast as I wish that it would. She is saying words and understands very abstract words but she is still jabbering and not pronouncing words correctly. It’s coming though. I can have two-way conversation with her, and she understands everything but the way that she communicates back to me is with emotion. She is a very emotional girl and I can see her getting her feelings hurt when she is disciplined [by Eric]. She is my practice of patience; I get mad at people and things but it takes a lot for me to get angry at her. I feel uncomfortable when I see her getting mildly punished, and have to leave the room because I cannot stand to see her get her feelings hurt. Her engineering mentality is still evident and she is manipulates so much with her hands. A very cute thing that she is starting to do is kiss. She will pout her lips like a fish and kiss me or Eric on the lips. It just makes my heart feel good to see her display love. She always seems to love me at the right time. It’s so cool. She is starting to be a girly girl. She comes into my bathroom when I’m dressing and getting ready for the day and gets into my lipstick and makeup. She puts on lipstick and blush; she just started to like to have her hair blown dry after her bath. It’s very cute. She likes pretty clothes and she’s a shoe fanatic. She loves to carry Grandma’s purse on her shoulder even though it drags on the ground. She is learning how to be a girl. I promise to write more for the East coast family; the pictures are coming soon.
