Astrid is starting to talk a little more. She is saying about 10 more words than she was just a few days ago. See ... there is no need for speech therapy. Aunt Sue took care of her on Friday, and that evening Astrid was pointing to the letter 'A' and saying 'A' because sue was helping her spell out her name on the easel. It is all coming together for her. She is also mimicking animal sounds and can say the sound of the monkey, kitty, dog, pig, elephant, lion & 'wookie'. Astrid is quite the helper and will throw garbage away for me, dust furniture, fold clothes, and clean the floor. Of course this is a slight exaggeration, but she will mimic me when I'm doing chores and try to help out. It is bitterly cold here in San Jose, so we haven’t been able to get out of the house much. We’ve been hunkering down this weekend and trying to keep ourselves busy with indoor activities. Hopefully this cold weather will be over soon so that we can go outside and get some fresh air.
